Introduction
According to dictionary definition of “worldly “, it means relating to,
or devoted to, the temporal world. Worldliness, then, is the condition of being
concerned with worldly affairs, especially to the neglect of spiritual things. 1
John 2: 15.
- Worldliness is friendship with the world. James warns us against been friends with the world because friendship with the world is enmity with God. James 4: 4
- Worldliness also means carnality and sensuality. It means living in the flesh and by the dictates of the flesh. Galatians 5: 17- 19
- Worldliness means living by the principles and practices of the world. Our standard is the word of God and not the world. 1 Corinthians 3: 1- 3
